Madrid, 10 December 2025. The Spanish Banking Association (AEB), CECA and the National Credit cooperatives Union (Unacc) have given today a major step in the fight against the cyberdelinquency, after meeting with the minister of Economy, Trade and Company, Carlos Cuerpo.
The meeting has concluded with the creation of a forum to promote effective measures of fight against the digital fraud and strengthen the cybersecurity. The banking associations will work with the Spanish Association for the Digitisation (Digital) to design concrete actions that they slow down the cyberscams.
AEB, CECA and Unacc have posed some concrete proposals to consider in this forum: they defend create multi-sectorial collaboration service channels, that they work effortlessly and with standardised protocols to detect patterns of fraud, define early alerts and coordinate rapid responses. The associations point out also the need of promoting mechanisms to share in a sure way details that they contribute to slow down the cyberscams.
Together with it, the banking sector proposes act on the phone numbers and addresses fraudulent website with the creation of an official repository of suspected numbers. It is move forward in line with the Ministerial Order of principles of year that forbids commercial calls not requested from mobile phones and toughen the vigilance in this field. They point out, also, the importance of ensuring the immediate retreat of false announcements in digital platforms.
The banking associations defend the convenience of considering the regulatory limitations, in different sectors, to fight of more effective way against the digital fraud. Similarly, have reiterated the importance of continuing in the efforts to sensitise to the town before the risks and raise awareness on the cybersecurity, in collaboration with the set of economic sectors and with the public administrations.
This effort is coherent with the four awareness campaigns and information that has boosted the banking sector to promote the sure platforms use digital, until achieving 80 million impacts in its promotion in barely three years. Currently, AEB, CECA, Unacc and ASNEF are developing the campaign ‘In the digital thing, worry equal’ in means, platforms of streaming and social networks . Similarly, AEB and CECA promote periodically messages of raising awareness on cybersecurity in low radio the slogan ‘The banking sector, with you’.
Following on from this, the banking associations have reiterated its active commitment in the boost of the digital training and the financial education, such as pillars to guarantee the sure use of the digital tools. Only in 2023, the sector drove nearly 13,000 financial and digital training activities adapted to the needs of all the groups. To centralise this effort, in 2022 plunged ‘Financial and Digital’Classroom, a platform that groups more than 600 training initiatives of the sector and that it has added recently an area specific to cybersecurity with practical and resources advice of experts.
In the meeting with the minister of Economy, Trade and Company, Carlos Cuerpo, have also participated representatives of the Spanish Association for the Digitisation, financial users, groups of great and disabled people, together with the Banco de España and the Ombudsman, that they coincided in the need of strengthening the collaboration public-private before the rise of the digital fraud.
