CECA strengthens the investment in the groups sénior and entrepreneur, with growths of 36.1% and of 56.8% respectively

CECA, its associated companies and its foundation Funcas allocated in 2024 a total of 3.22 million euros to 115 financial education programs in Spain, which means an increase of 25% with respect to the previous year. With this figure, CECA is consolidated as the private social major investor in this matter.
Thanks to this investment, were carried out 7,951 activities (+25%), with more than 43.8 million impacts between attendees in person and digital accesses, 29% more than in 2023. These are some collected details in the Shapeless executive of Financial Education 2024, that reflects the main figures of the developed activity for the sector CECA to strengthen the financial knowledge and the digital abilities of the Spanish society.
The Programme Funcas Educates, pillar of this initiative, allocated 2.5 million euros in 2024 to the project financing throughout the whole of Spain and consolidating as the major engine of the educational activity of the sector. Its vocation is double: bring closer the financial knowledge to all the citizenship and guarantee that these contents are adapted to the realities of each territory.
From its starting up in 2018, the sector CECA has invested 21.1 million euros in financial education, of which 15.29 millions were channelled via the Programme Covers Educates.
The financial education arrives with more force to great and entrepreneurs
47% of the investment (1.53 million euros) was allocated to childhood and youth, priority group to promote financial habits people in charge from early ages. Although its relative weight with respect to last year went down, the volume of investment remains stable and is consolidated as the most relevant group.
In parallel, the sector strengthened its commitment by people over 65 years old, with an investment of 20.3%, which is translated in 0.66 million euros (+36.1%), more than 2,300 initiatives (+77.5%) and a significant growth in impacts, that they happened of 3.7 millions in 2023 to 10.6 millions in 2024 (+188.4%). Additionally the adults out of 26 and 65 years experienced a marked increase, with an increase of the investment of 76.9% and an extent that it has grown remarkably with 222.2%.
The commitment of CECA with the most vulnerable groups remains steady, with an investment of 1.57 million euros. Within this block, the entrepreneurs concentrated 33.10% of the investment, followed by the people at risk of social exclusion (41.03%) and of the people with special needs (25.87%). In the case of the entrepreneurs, also, the investment grew 56.84% with respect to the previous year, consolidating as one of the priorities focuses of activity.
In 2024, the activities were centred mostly in saving, expenditure and budgets (30.5%), sustainability, digitisation and cybersecurity (17%), banking products and services (15.7%) and investment (14.1%).
The commitment of the sector is reflected also in the latest edition of the CECA Prizes of Obra Social and Financial Education, that received 62 projects, of which 22 resulted awarded people for its impact and innovative character.
The financial planning, to debate in the Day of the Financial Education 2025
CECA and Funcas collaborate in the starting up of initiatives framed in the Financial Education plan 2022-2025, boosted by the Banco de España, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) and the Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Company. In this context every year is celebrated on the Day of the Financial Education, that in 2025 takes for slogan “Learn more. Plans. Decides”. The meeting will put the focus in the importance of having reliable information, plan in good time and take responsible decisions in all phases of the life.
