The Bank of Spain and the CNMV Award CECA and Funcas for Their Projects in Financial Education

The Bank of Spain and the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) have awarded CECA and Funcas the Finance for All Award for their Achievements in the Development of the Financial Education Plan in recognition of their commitment to promoting financial culture. The award acknowledges the initiatives of both institutions as well as those of the entities affiliated with CECA.

CECA and Funcas launched the ‘Funcas Educa Program’ in 2018, endowed with three million euros, to which nine entities adhered – Abanca, Bankia, CaixaBank, Caixa Ontinyent, Caixa Pollença, Ibercaja Banco, Kutxabank, Liberbank, and Unicaja. Along with other actions outside the program, 2,643 activities were carried out that reached over 9.5 million beneficiaries. The reach of the entities allowed for access to all segments of the population, with 52 percent of the investment dedicated to children and young people. For specific groups, 73 percent of the investment was allocated to entrepreneurs, individuals with special needs, and those at risk of exclusion.

CECA and Funcas maintain financial education as a priority since it is an essential tool to help all citizens optimize their decisions in the economic and financial sphere.
