CECA publishes the first map of foundations following the transformation of the sector
The commitment to Social Work is preserved, dedicating more than 675 million in 2014
The report prepared by CECA titled “The new map of foundations: from savings banks to foundations” was presented at the IV Commission of Foundations and Social Work held on March 17 and published yesterday on CECA’s website (http://www.ceca.es/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Libro-Mapa-fundaciones.pdf).
The study reflects for the first time and in detail the new scenario arising from the approval of Law 26/2013, of December 27, on savings banks and banking foundations, in the foundational area.
The majority of the analyzed foundations focus their actions on a specific territorial dimension, of an autonomous or even provincial nature. Furthermore, to address the effects of the crisis, these entities have concentrated their resources in recent years in the areas of social and healthcare assistance while continuing to promote other fields of action, such as culture, heritage, and financial education.
Savings banks, banking foundations, and other foundations affiliated with CECA have as their mission and commitment the management of Social Work. All entities aspire to be a lever for economic development, social progress, and financial inclusion of Spanish society. During 2014, the sector allocated more than 675 million euros to Social Work, compared to 647 million in 2013.
