CECA and its associated entities participate in Financial Education Day
The main objective of this initiative is to permanently establish an official day dedicated to financial education, to be celebrated annually.
The entities associated with CECA are part of the Financial Education Plan through the framework agreement signed with Banco de España and CNMV.
Today, October 5th, the first Financial Education Day has been celebrated as part of the Financial Education Plan 2013-2017, in which CECA participates as a collaborating entity. Through its associates, CECA has deployed numerous activities throughout the national territory to disseminate the importance of financial planning, savings, and access to information as the foundation for economic decision-making (see attached table).
CECA has made its website rededucacionfinanciera.es available as a meeting point to share knowledge, news, current articles, and an events agenda, to give the widest possible dissemination to the activities that will take place during this day.
As an opening event for this day, a ceremony has taken place at the headquarters of Banco de España, attended by representatives from all interest groups committed to this subject, public bodies, credit entities, professors, among others. Additionally, the III Financial Education School Awards have been presented.
Furthermore, from this same headquarters, a special edition of the FUNCAS program Finances for All Audiences was broadcasted on RNE-5, with participation from Banco de España, CNMV, CECA, as well as the awarded professors and students.
In this same line, at the end of this month, a seminar on “Regulation and Financial Transparency” will be held at CECA’s headquarters, taught by Mr. Carlos Monasterio, Professor of Economics at the University of Oviedo in collaboration with FUNCAS.
An active participation with a long trajectory
Since 2008, with the launch of the First Financial Education Plan (2008-2012), CECA has signed an agreement with its main promoters, Banco de España and CNMV. The associated entities adhered to this agreement, facilitating the creation of a working group that has allowed the exchange of experiences, best practices, and the promotion of action plans in this area.
Additionally, CECA holds an annual financial education conference that serves as a collaboration platform for professionals in the sector. Next December, the VI Financial Education Conference will take place, which as usual will conclude with the presentation of Financial Education and Social Welfare Awards from the magazine Actualidad Económica.
Recently, a collaboration agreement has been signed with the Chamber of Commerce of Spain to promote, among other issues, financial education for entrepreneurs.
Through all these actions, CECA and its associates aim to reaffirm their social commitment to educating citizens in savings and finance.
