Madrid, May 19, 2020 – Spanish banks have launched a new website that gathers all the initiatives developed by the sector in the fight against the coronavirus. Through this platform, a public service is offered that is useful for families, self-employed individuals, and companies, as well as for the employees of financial institutions.
This initiative, jointly promoted by sector associations – the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) and CECA – is available at the domain www.labancafrentealcoronavirus.es, which integrates all the information that has been provided, not only to clients of financial institutions but to all citizens and entrepreneurs interested in understanding the involvement of the banking sector in addressing this crisis.
This portal collects information about the measures that banks are adopting in support of citizens and the Spanish productive fabric, both specific to the sector and agreed upon in close collaboration with the Government and regulators.
Furthermore, it seeks to respond educationally to the questions that may arise for self-employed individuals or SMEs when dealing with their institutions, for example, the application for a loan guaranteed by the ICO. It also compiles all the joint statements issued by the AEB and CECA.
Since the onset of the pandemic, banks have undertaken significant efforts for the benefit of society as a whole, maintaining their physical presence throughout the territory and strengthening their connection with clients through digital channels.
This internet site, which will expand as new actions by banks in the fight against COVID-19 are incorporated, is another solidarity effort from the sector to ensure that the crisis has the least possible impact on the productive activity of the country and on the lives of individuals.
