MADRID. Wednesday, September 28, 2022. The Spanish Banking Association (AEB), CECA, and the National Union of Credit Cooperatives (Unacc) have received the “Finanzas Para Todos” award for the best track record in the development of the Financial Education Plan for the initiative “Aula Financiera y Digital”. This award, granted by the Bank of Spain, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, recognizes the commitment of the Spanish banking sector to the financial and digital education of society.

The associations AEB, CECA, and Unacc have long been working to facilitate access for the population to knowledge and skills that make economic concepts more understandable and financial decision-making more informed and independent. Likewise, they join efforts to facilitate the acquisition of skills for the use of digital platforms in a context of progressive digital transformation. This trajectory is consolidated with the objectives set out in the Strategic Protocol to Reinforce the Social and Sustainable Commitment of Banking, which includes the commitment to promote financial and digital education. Specifically, it reflects the intention to encourage financial and digital education and to promote a network of financial and digital education that helps society acquire the necessary knowledge to operate more safely in the new environments and channels made available to them.

With this goal, AEB, CECA, and Unacc launched on May 19 the “Aula Financiera y Digital,” a platform that gathers all training initiatives developed in these areas by the financial entities of the three associations. The website concentrates more than 280 initiatives that respond to the needs and interests of the entire population, organized by theme and differentiated groups, with special attention to the most vulnerable sectors and their needs. This site, which is continuously updated, presents initiatives in an agile and accessible manner, with different search engines, and offers immediate training resources through videos and podcasts.

This advancement has been recognized by the Bank of Spain, the CNMV, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs with the “Finanzas Para Todos” award, valuing the significant contribution of the banking associations AEB, CECA, and Unacc to the improvement of the financial knowledge of the population. The award ceremony will take place next Monday, October 3, on the occasion of Financial Education Day, at the CNMV headquarters in Barcelona.
