José María Méndez, General Director of CECA, attended the presentation event of the study ‘Bancassurance. The Importance of a Continuously Evolving Channel’, held on Tuesday, March 5, at the All in One space of Caixabank.
This report has been prepared by the Foundation of the Spanish Institute of Analysts and the Association for the Insurance Mediation of Financial Entities (Amaef). The aim of this study has been to deepen the strategic relevance of bancassurance and reveal the fundamental role it plays in protecting citizens.
“Thanks to the bancassurance channel, clients have a greater chance of contracting insurance products through a distributor that has an comprehensive knowledge of their financial situation and savings capacity. Furthermore, the ongoing contact of the bancassurance channel with clients allows for the adjustment of the protection and savings offer to their life cycle,” stated José María Méndez.
The study concludes with the challenges faced by bancassurance and its strengths, such as the processes of knowing your customers (Know Your Customers or KYC), fraud prevention, and anti-money laundering.
