Cybersecurity Campaign: Your Data is Confidential, Do Not Share It

According to the National Cybersecurity Observatory (OSIC), in 2021, 71% of internet users experienced an attempt of cyber scam and 14.9% received communications impersonating their bank.

Identifying and preventing these attacks is the best way to combat cyber fraud. This is the objective of the new campaign from the financial sector and Levanta la Cabeza, to raise awareness and disseminate the practices of social engineering used by cybercriminals. The spot focuses on vishing, a technique by which cybercriminals call their victims pretending to be their bank with the pretext of obtaining confidential data such as access passwords or coordinate card information.

From AEB, CECA, Unacc, and ASNEF – the banking associations participating in the campaign – emphasize that entities will never request confidential data through calls or messages: “Your data is confidential, do not share it“. If the user has received a suspicious communication, they must contact their bank through official channels: call customer service, contact through the official website, or visit an office.

With this new campaign, Levanta la Cabeza continues its aim to promote secure, responsible, and universal digitalization.
