Alberto Aza: “We must highlight the importance of saving”

CECA has a history intertwined with saving and social commitment since its official establishment in 1928. This is evidenced by its active participation in initiatives such as the Financial Education Day in Spain and World Savings Day, which not only contributes to increasing awareness about saving but also aims to spread financial culture.

Therefore, on the occasion of World Savings Day, Vozpópuli spoke with the spokesperson of the Association of Savings Banks and Banks created by them (CECA), Alberto Aza. “At the foundational origin of CECA and its entities lies the dissemination of the importance of saving, and it remains as relevant today as it was then through financial education,” Aza acknowledges.

With this commemoration, the goal is to emphasize the importance of saving, which, according to the CECA spokesperson, is “a fundamental macroeconomic variable.” “An adequate savings rate is a catalyst for economic growth. If we maintain healthy savings, individuals can achieve their goals, plan for retirement, and have a more dignified future. Saving helps individuals realize their potential better,” explains Aza.
