Alberto Aza participates in the ‘Capital Intereconomía’ program on the occasion of International Bank Day

Alberto Aza, spokesperson for CECA, participated in the ‘Capital Intereconomía’ program on Intereconomía Radio, on the occasion of International Bank Day, celebrated on December 3rd.

Alberto Aza, along with Elena Mesonero, managing director of CACEIS; Gabriela Orille, independent advisor for Denarius; and Fernando Rodríguez, Business Development Director at Bizum, discussed on Intereconomía Radio the role of banks in the economy and employment, and what a world without them would look like.

“Banking entities constitute the circulatory system of the economy because they allow money to flow to families and companies. Banking shortens time frames and makes it possible to achieve vital purposes such as purchasing a home or achieving international expansion for a business,” noted Alberto Aza.

Regarding the future of the sector, Alberto highlighted the challenge of digital transformation, due to its strategic implications; the optimization of processes; the development of new products from the perspective of competition; and sustainability, on which he stated, “banking has a fundamental role because it must redirect funding flows towards sustainable activities.”
