Presentation of the report ‘Women and the Financial Sector: Inclusion as a Factor of Competitiveness’

Experts Mónica Melle, Professor of Financial Economics at UCM and member of the Advisory Council of ORFIN; Mónica Malo, Director of Communication, External Relations and Sustainability at CECA; Soledad Núñez, member of the Governing Council and the Executive Committee of the Bank of Spain; and José Carlos Díez, economist, author, and director of ORFIN, presented the in-depth report from the Observatory ‘Women and the Financial Sector: Inclusion as a Factor of Competitiveness’. The event took place on Wednesday, November 10 at 11:00 AM in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism at the University of Alcalá (UAH).

Currently, the financial sector faces numerous challenges, including a greater commitment to gender inclusion in both its workforce and in management positions and boards of directors. In this regard, the speakers presented data on the presence of women in financial services entities and the importance of gender-balanced governance in companies as a factor of competitiveness and as one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Furthermore, the experts discussed a series of initiatives to advance gender equality at all levels of the organization.
