What is the Social Work of the CECA sector dedicated to?
The entities associated with CECA allocated 800.16 million euros to Social Work during 2022, representing an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous year.
However, these figures are nothing compared to what was invested before the financial crisis, when many savings banks were forced to convert into banks or were absorbed by them.
According to data from 2008, that year 2.058 billion euros were invested in Social Work, equivalent to 27.7% of the profits of these entities.
In any case, Mónica Malo defends the current contribution to Social Work in the latest Social Investor podcast, where she also outlines the main activities to which the funds are directed.
“It remains a pillar. It is true that there were moments when more than 2,000 million were invested, but today 800 million are invested and we cannot underestimate this contribution that remains very relevant,” she explains. “They have been carrying out Social Work for over 3 centuries. Social Work has a true commitment to well-being,” asserted Mónica Malo.
