MADRID. Wednesday, 28 September 2022. The Spanish Banking Association (AEB), CECA and the National Union of Credit Cooperatives (UNACC) have received the "Finanzas para Todos" award for their achievements in the development of the Financial Education Plan, for the "Financial and Digital Classroom" initiative. This distinction, awarded by the Bank of Spain, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, is in recognition of the Spanish banking sector's commitment to the financial and digital education of society.

The three associations, AEB, CECA and UNACC, have been working for some time to promote access by the general public to knowledge and skills that will make economic concepts more

comprehensible and enable financial decisions to be taken with a greater degree of information and independence. Similarly, they pool their efforts to facilitate the acquisition of skills for the use of digital platforms, in a context of progressive digital transformation. This development has been consolidated with the objectives undertaken within the framework of the Strategic Protocol to Strengthen the Social and Sustainable Commitment of the Banking Sector, which includes the commitment to promote financial and digital education. In particular, it reflects the determination to foster financial and digital education, and to promote a financial and digital education network that assists society in gaining the appropriate knowledge in order to be able to operate with greater security in the new environments and channels made available to them.

With this objective in mind, on 19 May, AEB, CECA and UNACC launched "Financial and Digital Classroom", a platform that brings together all the training initiatives developed in these fields by the financial institutions belonging to the three associations. The website hosts more than 280 initiatives, which respond to the needs and interests of the entire population, organised according to themes and differentiated groups, with a special focus on the most vulnerable sectors and their needs. This website, constantly updated, presents the initiatives in an agile and accessible manner, with different search engines, and provides immediate training resources through videos and podcasts.

This advancement has been acknowledged by the Bank of Spain, the CNMV and the Ministry of Economic Affairs with the "Finanzas para Todos" award, valuing the significant contribution of the banking associations AEB, CECA and UNACC towards improving the financial literacy of the population. The award ceremony will take place on Monday, 3 October, on the occasion of Financial Education Day, at the CNMV head office in Barcelona.
